Mr. Camarillo is a thirty-eight veteran of both local and federal law enforcement agencies. He served as an El Paso Police Officer, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent, FBI Special Agent Bomb Technician (SABT), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Transportation Security Specialist-Explosives Officer (TSS-E) for the Transportation Security Administration.

During his tenure with the FBI, Mr. Camarillo served as a Special Agent Bomb Technician (SABT) for sixteen (16) years and was appointed as the SABT Coordinator for the El Paso Field Division. He was also assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) as the lead Special Agent Bomb Technician and Assistant Weapons of Mass Destruction Training Coordinator.  Mr. Camarillo’s prior career includes significant experience in providing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) Recognition training, Bomb Threat Mitigation, and Post Blast training/investigations in Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Colombia, and the Republic of Mexico.  He also served as the lead Special Agent Bomb Technician and instructor for the FBI Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC) in South American and the Republic of Mexico. 

Upon retiring from the FBI, Mr. Camarillo assumed the duties of a Transportation Security Specialist - Explosives Officer with DHS-TSA, overseeing the training and testing of the Explosive Security Program at the El Paso International Airport. He served as a technical adviser and consulted with management, industry representatives, and officers on Terrorism matters, Improvised Explosive Devices, and evolving IED threats within the El Paso Area of Responsibility. Mr. Camarillo also provided training on X-ray interpretation of IEDs/components and conducted local Red Cell Covert testing at the El Paso International Airport.

His private sector experience includes training on Active Shooter (Aggressor) Response, Bomb Threat Mitigation, Vehicle Searches for IEDs, Basic IEDs Recognition, X-ray Imaging Interpretation of IEDs and their components.  Mr. Camarillo also provides training on the utilization of Hand Held and Walk-Through Metal Detector, Explosive Detection Equipment, and Mitigation of positive alarms for Illegal Weapons/Prohibited Items at security check points.

Currently, Mr. Camarillo is a consultant for private and public sector entities and lead instructor for C/Q International, LLC. C/Q International provides an array of security training and consulting services within the El Paso Borderplex Region.
